Wetherby 10k

Wetherby 10k results www.wetherbyrunnersac.co.uk

The course is anticlockwise and starts at Wetherby Racecourse. It descends to the roundabout at the racecourse entrance, then runs in a northwest direction along the new link road for 1.2k, it then bears right onto an unsurfaced track through fields for approx. 2k to a farm on Loshpot Lane. You then follow the single track farm road for a further 1.5k, you then cross a bridge that leads to the halfway drinks station opposite the cricket ground.
The scenic village of Kirk Deighton with its medieval church, and puplic house is just round the corner. After running down the village main street, runners bear left onto Scrifton Lane and reach the 6k point, you then run onto a wide well surfaced bridleway, parallel to the new A168 link road, you continue for 1.8k skirting round the eastern side of Wetherby.
At York Road the runners remain on the grass verge, on the right hand side of the road, you then pass under and over bridges in an easterly direction. You then descend before turning right onto a track that leads to the Harland Way cycle track.
You cover approx. 1k on this well surfaced track back to Wetherby racecourse, the final push is only 500m to the finish at the same gantry as the start.
And the Black Sheep Race Series has finished for another year, so good luck to everyone.
