RAINTON 10K
Well done to all finishers at Rainton, no sun but the conditions were still pretty warm. Some good times in the conditions, and as someone said to me at the finish, its nice to know that Gary Dunn is human and does not always win.
Credit to Gary who was very gracious in his praise of winner Darren Bilton, whose blistering first mile left Gary and the rest of the field chasing in vein. That good start enabled Darren to break the long standing course record with a time of 31.20.
Sundays results can be found on the Rainton page.
Photo's from Rainton may not appear until after Burn Valley, as we are busy getting ready for Sundays race.

RACE ENTRY FORMS
I have put a PDF link for entry forms on the pages of the following races, Rainton, Burton Leonard and Wetherby. If you want entry forms for Burn Valley then go to the relevant web site, burnvalleyrun.com, and download an entry form from there.
USE OF I-PODS
I have this week been contacted by the police regarding runners wearing I-Pods at the Fountains10k, this was with regard to two lady runners who nearly caused an accident because they were not listening to instructions from a Race Marshall and ran in front of a vehicle.
This I gather is becoming a major problem following the death of a runner near Richmond, the police are reminding all race organisers that, as races are run on open roads and not closed to traffic, they should discourage the wearing of i-pods during races.
I now understand that a number of races, including my own race the Burn Valley 1/2, are now taking the option that if runners wear i-pods in races they will face disqualification from the race. So be aware of race rules at future races.
SERIES 2009;- This years format will be a Series based on your actual race times not on a points system. The downside to this is that the criteria for next year will be: 4 x 10k races plus both the long races. We will be including prizes for the age groups Male and Female U/35.
